Dr. Isabelle Zheng is a dual Canadian and American board-certified radiologist. She grew up in a rural community in Quebec and speaks fluently French, English and Chinese.

After graduating from Marianopolis College in Montreal with many distinctions including The Birks Medal for the second highest academic performance in the Science program; The English Department Award for outstanding achievement in English literature; and The Margaret Taussig Award in Biology; she was admitted directly to medical school at McGill University with a major entrance scholarship and without a prior undergraduate degree. 

She graduated the top of her class in medical school, receiving the prestigious Holmes Gold Medal, awarded by McGill since 1865. She went on to complete her residency and fellowship training in Radiology at the University of Toronto and earned the “Best Publication by a Resident” award by the Quebec Radiological Society.

She enjoys teaching and mentorship and has held several leadership roles in education, community outreach and advocacy so far in her career. She is experienced with residency interviews, having interviewed at 12 radiology programs across Canada, and with medical school admissions both in English-Canada and in Quebec.

Dr. Zheng is a tech enthusiast with an interest in healthcare technology innovation and entrepreneurship. As a radiologist, she performs image-guided procedures and works with digital medical images and voice recognition engines on a daily basis. She is particularly interested in health engineering startups working on telemedicine, natural language processing, on the use of neural networks for the analysis of medical images and on augmented reality to assist with image-guided interventions or manipulation of medical images. 

She is part of the SHAD Valley alumni network (U Waterloo 2005), a nationally recognized summer program for young innovators and entrepreneurs in STEM fields and is enrolled in the Machine Learning  course at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.

In her free time, she is a digital artist/graphic designer, outdoors lover, avid world explorer and aspires to follow the footsteps of Anthony Bourdain in Parts Unknown
