She completed her B.Sc. in Biology and Psychology, and her M.Sc. in Medical Sciences studying tuberculosis immunology and vaccinology both at McMaster University. During her undergrad thesis work and her master’s, Maryam became very interested in immunology, so she decided to pursue doctoral studies alongside medicine, studying more immunology! Outside of research, Maryam is very passionate about science communication. Partnering with “McMaster Children & Youth University”, Maryam has organized and delivered workshops on viral transmission and vaccines to children living in underprivileged neighborhoods in Hamilton. She has also helped to organize and deliver molecular biology workshops to high school students as a part of “Let’s Talk Science” organization. Maryam is very excited to join MD Consultants to help pre-med students reach their full potential and showcase their best self in both the application and the interview process!
