Mehul Pathak is a pharmacist who graduated from the University of Toronto in 1993. He founded the Ennismore Pharmacy at the age of 24. He is currently the owner and operator of four retail pharmacies; all located Northeast of Toronto.

In addition to being a healthcare professional and an entrepreneur, Mehul has a long and distinguished career in charitable endeavours. He has won the Pfizer Commitment to Care Award and has also been awarded The Paul Harris Fellow by the Peterborough Branch of the Rotary Club.

He has also been awarded by the Sanatan Mandir Cultural Centre and Srigaud Brahmin Group of Toronto for his dedication to his community in 2010.

Mehul has been a volunteer for Diabetes Canada for many years. He has provided professional services, patient counselling, lectures and speeches to educate patients. For his efforts, he received the Diabetes Canada Ambassador Award in 2018 and the Diabetes Canada Outstanding Healthcare Professional Award in 2019.

Mehul has established an award at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Pharmacy. The Sharmistha Pathak Memorial Award is the award to honour his mother and his family’s legacy of generational entrepreneurship and charitability. This award will be awarded to a student registered in Year 4 of the Doctor of Pharmacy program, and the value of this award is $2500.

He has organized multiple pharmacy industry galas in 2015 and 2016 from inception to completion. Over 350 guests attended these galas, including pharmacists, vendors and industry executives. $40000 was successfully raised to support Diabetes Canada and help raise awareness. For these exhaustive efforts, Mehul received the Remedy’s Rx Charitable Work Award in 2016.

Recently, Mehul has taken on the role of mentoring and coaching pharmacy students at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Pharmacy. His decades of experience as a pharmacist, healthcare professional and entrepreneur are being passed down to the next generation of pharmacists as he assists students with various business and healthcare competitions.

  • I implemented one of the first telemedicine clinics at the Ennismore Pharmacy and Port Perry Pharmacy in 2016, when the technology was in its infancy. I was one of the first pharmacy owners, who had multiple telemedicine clinic locations.
  • I initiated multiple Diabetic Foot Clinics at three of our pharmacy locations in 2014. Providing local foot care for diabetics allowed them to be served closer to home and within their own communites.
