Dr. Sandhu is a British Columbia native who spent her early childhood on Salt Spring Island before moving to Victoria, BC. She completed both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science at the University of Victoria, specializing in Health Information Science and Health Informatics. She then attended medical school at the University of British Columbia, followed by an anatomical pathology residency at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta.
Dr. Sandhu pursued advanced subspecialty training in the United States, completing fellowships in oncological surgical pathology and head and neck pathology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, New York. After working as an anatomical pathologist in Atlantic Canada, she returned to the West Coast in 2018 to join the pathology staff at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Sandhu is passionate about travel and exploring the world’s diverse cultures and landscapes. One of her personal goals is to visit 100 countries, and by next year, she expects to have completed nearly 90% of that goal.
