Dr. Samuel Hetz is a physician with a strong background in preventative health, fitness, metabolic research, and clinical and aesthetic medicine. He holds a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Studies, where his research focused on obesity, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic comorbidities in patients with spinal cord injuries. During his undergraduate studies in Human Kinetics, he explored the effects of weight loss on metabolism, sparking a lifelong interest in health optimization. He pursued his medical degree at the University of Toronto and completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa, where he earned the highest mark on his licensing examination. Dr. Hetz also holds a GP Focused Practice Designation in Dermatology, awarded by the Ontario Medical Association and the Ministry of Health — a distinction held by only a handful of Family Physicians in Ottawa. An experienced cosmetic injector since 2013, Dr. Hetz serves on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine (CAAM) and is regularly called upon as a medicolegal expert by national law firms, the Canadian Medical Protective Association, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). He maintains an academic appointment at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine, where he instructs medical students, residents, and fellow physicians. In 2016, Dr. Hetz acquired Concept Medical, a leading medical aesthetics clinic in Ottawa. Under his leadership, the clinic grew significantly before merging with Dermapure in 2023, becoming Dermapure Wellington Village. The clinic earned back-to-back Consumer Choice Awards in 2021 and 2022, recognizing excellence in both patient care and service delivery. Throughout his career, Dr. Hetz has received numerous national awards for academic excellence and leadership, published extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals, and regularly presents at national conferences. Most recently, he was named one of the Forty Under 40 recipients by the Ottawa Business Journal and Ottawa Board of Trade, honoring his professional achievements and contributions to the community.
