Dr. Tymon Tai is a Facial Plastic Surgeon and Otolaryngologist (ENT) currently practicing in the Greater Toronto area. He completed his Otolaryngology training at the Keck School of Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, California. He further specialized in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, completing a fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston under world-renowned mentors.
Tymon’s passion for advancing the fields of Facial Plastics and Otolaryngology led to the development of a machine-learning based tool to assess facial paralysis patients in collaboration with the Viterbi School of Engineering of USC. Additionally, he was awarded the Dean’s Research Scholar for his research in stem-cell biology and hearing regeneration. Through these endeavors, he has authored peer-reviewed publications and has been invited to present his research at prestigious national conferences.
A strong patient advocate, Tymon led efforts to improve the quality of patient care during his time at the Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center. He collaborated with the Committee of Interns and Residents SEIU and hospital administrators to secure funding, medications, and diagnostic medical equipment for his patients at the ENT clinic. Similarly, he cherishes medical education, serving as a panelist, clinic instructor, and mentor for residents and medical students interested in his field.
Tymon also pursued a business administration degree with emphasis on entrepreneurship and global strategy. He enjoys applying this approach in his clinical practice, medical consultantship and multidisciplinary research initiatives.
